How to Hang Your Roller Blind: A Guide
Roller blinds are suitable for any window in any room. They look great, are stylish and modern, easy to clean, and long-lasting. Additionally, they are available in a huge range of colours and materials, and you can buy them made to measure, or cut them to size yourself. If you are planning on fitting your roller blinds yourself, it is important to understand what will need to be done before you start the job.
Hanging the Roller Blind
Once you have measured your window, purchased your blind and cut it to size, you will need to hang the brackets that will hold the roller blind in place. This is simply a matter of marking the position of the brackets, checking that they are evenly placed and level, and screwing them into place using rawl plugs and the screws that come with the product.
When your brackets are up, you can go ahead and hang the blind. Begin this process by placing the cord winder end of the blind into the bracket – the square peg should fit neatly into the square hole. Next, fit the other end with the dummy pin going into the other bracket. Your blind is now in place.
To use your blind simply pull the cord winder; the back cord will lower the blind, and the front cord will raise it. You can now sit back and enjoy your brand new roller blind.
Cutting Hint
When cutting the roller section of your roller blind, you should cover the area where you will be cutting with masking tape. This will stop the hacksaw from slipping whilst you are making your cut.
